I run a marketing agency and, with my husband, am raising two amazing boys. As most parents do, we read to or with our kids daily. Our house is filled with books that we own and borrow from the library or friends.  Some of these books my kids love, and others…not so much. It can be difficult to pick good books for your kids.  A trip to the library or bookstore can quickly become overwhelming. With my kids, if they pick a book that doesn’t engage them, they get discouraged–not only with the book, but with reading in general. That’s the last thing any of us want.  Not only is reading fundamentally important for all children, but studies have shown that reading every day boosts imagination, vocabulary, comprehension and the overall ability to learn.

With a degree in English Literature, I have always been an avid reader and lover of books. When I became a parent, I turned my focus to the books I could share with my kids. My goal in writing this blog is to write about great children’s books and give you my insight on what makes a book special, as well as feedback from the best critics of all — kids!  I hope you like Wise Owl and join in the discussion.
